Clarke[e?], [Oglvanes?]. Letter from [Oglvanes?] Clark[e?] to his (unnamed) brother, Nov. 17, 1878.  [Formerly in Hoosac Tunnel Contemporary Materials, etc. folder; attached to the letter was a tag reading "Beatrice Kemp (gift of).  11-28-78 from Steen, Librarian. Now in a manila file labeled Letter on Troy & Greenfield Railroad stationary, Nov. 17, 1878.] [FIC HT 57] [HT #3]

Doane, Thomas.  Letter from Thomas Doane to P. A. Chadbaurne [sic. Paul Ansel Chadbourne (1823-1883), the President of Williams College], Williamstown, Mass. , Feb. 11, 1875.  "Our first train through the Hoosac Tunnel…"  (Mounted in a little booklet; should be taken out and preserved better.) [FIC HT 56] [HT #3]

Ross, Kip.  Letter from Kip Ross (National Geographic Society, Illustrations Division) to William B. Browne, April 12, 1951, returning 5 photographic negatives (which are included)-- Photos are Central Shaft, Mallory's descent 1867; Railroad Committee of the Legislature visiting the Hoosac Tunnel, ca.1876; etc.  One is labeled 4245 old log. [All were in brown paper envelope; now in a folder along with the envelope.]  [FIC HT 55] [HT #3]

Taylor, Herbert F.  Letter from Herbert F. Taylor (editor of the Journal of the Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Worcester, Massachusetts) to Charles E. Wells of North Adams, 1923.  Back of same letter and following pages are a draft of Wells' long reply.
