Comics Doodling Workshop -Presented by cartoonist and art educator, Cara Bean, this playful workshop via Zoom invites participants to draw and sketch in an open and relaxed environment. We begin with a few simple sketching games meant to inspire our imagination. As the session progresses, we generate interesting characters and settings. We then explore how words and pictures can come together to build a basic narrative. Participants write and draw their own stories inspired by their drawings. The final sketches they create culminate in a complete creative experience and are often surprising and always fun. Takes place on Tuesday, July 14th 1:00 – 2:15 PM. Best suited for ages 8-11. Registration is required.
Summer Reading Wrap Up Party with The Puppet Brigade – Puppeteer Gordon Holey uses his handcrafted puppets to tell “The Storybook”. This interactive tale is about a storyteller who has lost his storybook, and has to use his memory, knowledge of how stories are put together, and a lot of help from the audience to guide the audience through three stories: A classic fairytale, a folk story, and an adventure story. The show will take place on Monday, August 3rd at 6:00 pm. A link to the show will be posted here and on the library’s Facebook page at showtime. The link will remain available for the month of August for you to watch at your convenience.
